Fiberglass tapes are used in a range of industries, including construction, automotive, marine, and electrical, among others. They serve to patch holes, reinforce seams, bundle cables, and more. As an off-the-shelf solution, tapes are easy to install on small parts and are available for delivery the next day if they’re in stock (or within 1 week if they’re not). Though not customizable like a custom-fitted insulation cover, fiberglass tapes are adaptable to various applications and available in different widths and thicknesses.

For high-heat applications, specialized tapes are required to provide the insulation and protection needed to withstand extreme temperatures and even open flames. High-temperature fiberglass tapes are specially designed for high-heat OEM and industrial applications. At Firwin, we offer three types of fiberglass tape, each with its own advantages to meet specific demands. While all of these options can be used for similar purposes, the one you choose will depend largely on the temperature the tape will face in your application environment.

Fiberglass Tapes at Firwin

At Firwin Corporation, we offer a range of high-temperature fiberglass tapes to meet the needs of various applications. When choosing the best option for your needs, it’s important to consider various environmental factors, including temperature, fluids, flames and hot flashes, abrasion, and more.

Our product offerings include:

Silicone Coated Fiberglass tapeSilicone Coated Fiberglass Tape

Ranging in width from 1’’ to 5’’, silicone coated fiberglass tape is resistant to oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, and more. It can withstand continuous temperatures of up to 500° F as well as occasional flames and molten splashes of up to 2,200° F. Made of knitted or braided fiberglass yarns in a flexible substrate and coated with high-grade silicone, these tapes are designed to protect hoses, wires, and cables, insulating against energy loss and protecting people from burns. For qualified hose assemblies to pass AS1055D testing, you’ll want to choose the braided fiberglass option.

Firwin Fiberglass Tapes

This multi-purpose tape is available in thicknesses of 1/4″, 1/8″, or 1/16″, with widths ranging from 1’’ to 6’’. As a cost-effective solution for applications requiring protection from temperatures of up to 1,000° F, Firwin fiberglass tapes offer unparalleled durability, strength, and resilience. They are resistant to solvents and bleach, as well as most alkalis and acids. Flexible and abrasion-resistant, these tapes find use in a variety of demanding OEM and industrial applications.

Vermiculite Coated Fiberglass Tapes

Vermiculite tapeVermiculite is a versatile natural mineral, popular in gardening and as a non-abrasive, lightweight, and highly absorbent shipping material. When used on fiberglass tape, it offers outstanding abrasion resistance, thermal insulation, and protection against acids and alkalis. Vermiculite coated fiberglass tapes offer heat protection against temperatures up to 1,500° F. At Firwin, we have vermiculite coated fiberglass tapes that are 2’’ wide and 1/16″ thick or 4’’ wide and 1/8″ thick. If you need a different size for any of our tapes, contact us directly.
