Firwin Corporation is a leading manufacturer of custom insulation products for diesel and gas engines & exhaust systems, and industrial applications. Our 2 main product lines are removable and reusable insulation blankets (also known as removable insulation covers and removable insulation jackets) and permanent Hard Coat™ composite insulation. We also stock a wide range of off-the-shelf high temperature tapes and sleeves.
We service a diverse range of industries, providing insulation solutions for applications such as diesel and gas powered generating stations, gensets, on-road and off-road vehicles, as well as industrial applications such as process and steam line valves, flanges, and piping.
Firwin Corp has been in the insulation blanket business since 1982. Founded by 2 entrepreneurs Dave Fireman and Paul Winn (thus the company name Firwin), the company was acquired by Paul and Miriam Herman in 1989. From its small beginnings as a family business, Firwin Corp has grown over the years to its position today as one of the leading North American manufacturers of removable insulation blankets and permanent composite Hard Coat™ insulation solutions. The Herman family still owns and operates the business, with the next generation of family members holding key positions in the company.
At Firwin, our approach to business can best be summed up by the following statement: “How can we help you”? We are in the business of building supportive professional relationships with our clients, aiding them in making the best insulation decisions that reduce risk and promote peace of mind.
We strive to treat our all customers, be they big or small, with the patience and respect. Our goal is to provide our customers with the best insulation solution for their particular situation – to the extent that if we feel that the best solution lies outside our company, we will say so.
We are continuously making process and production improvements. We embrace technology innovations and find ways to incorporate these changes into our products. We have invested heavily in R&D and continuously strive to translate this research into new products. We work very hard for our customers, and do our best to meet their needs.

The UL 2200 standard is geared specifically to Stationary Engine and Generator Assemblies. The purpose of the standard is to ensure that generators have been designed and built to guard against risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to personnel.
The UL certification applies to Firwin’s standard insulation blankets, with either FW1200 or FW1800 insulation.
Firwin blankets also meet Marine and Military Standards.
NIA Certified Insulation Energy Appraiser
Firwin Corp has Certified Insulation Energy Appraisers on staff available to perform Energy Audits of your facility.
Our Energy Auditors :

- Translate BTU Energy Loss into dollars.
- Calculate Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
